The WorldSpace suite of tools and objects libraries works with GIS (geographic information systems). It automatically transforms spatial data into multidimensional, navigable virtual worlds.
Conventional GIS generate output in two dimensions. Your familiar road map may be a product of a GIS. But GIS maps, despite their ubiquity, are difficult to use. They compress the 3D world into a 2D displays, an uncommon way to know the world. As a result, fully 70 percent of all Americans cannot read or understand maps.
Our WorldSpace core product automatically translates GIS outputs (with their dimensionality intact) into multidimensional virtual worlds. These worlds are dynamic and highly interactive: changes in the data are reflected in other phenomenon, often in unexpected ways. A conventional map might not have shown the change. A virtual world, because we are living "in" it as we live in the material world, is more conducive to efficient use of our perception and cognition -- in other words, we get things right more often, more quickly.
