Sumitomo is one of Japan's leading keiretsen as
well as one of the world's largest banks and trading companies. In 1992,
Sumitomo's Japan Research Institute (JRI) think-tank became Worldesign's second
customer. Worldesign has performed user-interface design, technology assessment,
and program management services for JRI and is currently engaged in a JRI
Internet project to link local governments and technology incubators in Japan and
the United States.
